Farm Commander is a great success!
Farm Commander is out almost a year now, and Gourami is happy to see that almost 10.000 people had registered it. A far greater number has downloaded it. Many very big names like USA government and of course many big IT companies. We also want urge everyone who uses Farm Commander to send us feedback via the forums!
Kicking off a global launch consisting of more than 150 developer-focused events, Microsoft Corp. announced the general availability of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4. The company also announced that Silverlight 4 will release to Web (RTW) later in the week. Together, these technologies simplify the entire development process, enabling developers to target new platforms and build high-quality applications. Developers will be able to download Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 in conjunction with the Microsoft Visual Studio Conference & Expo launch event in Las Vegas.
The new version of farm commander passed all quality tests for Windows 7.
This mean we are now officially 'compatible with
windows 7'.
Both scenario’s were tested: running farm commander on a windows 7 client. And manipulating file systems on a windows 7 computer remotely. As expected Farm Commander passed all tests.
Since Gourami recently took Farm Commander out of BETA, many new people and companies downloaded Farm Commander.
This led to a storm of positive comments. Many people also had ideas on new features. This led to 3 new powerful new features:
Ever had two (on paper) ‘identical Citrix servers’, but on one of these servers you can’t get this application to run? Farm Commander now makes it possible to compare the file systems of two servers. A truly unique feature, which no other tool has. Once the two servers are scanned there is a possibility to apply an include/exclude filter. This enables you to skip ‘documents and settings’ for example. Or to only compare .exe files.
One of the golden rules for proper XenApp management is to keep your servers identical. This seems like an easy task, especially with tools like Installation Manager, Altiris and Wisdom. Experienced administrators know better. It always grows apart. With Farm Commander you get a nice overview of what software is installed on what server. This will enable you to find differences between servers/computers very quickly. This overview can also be exported to CSV for use in excel for example.
A common task for Citrix administrators is rebooting the servers. In previous versions of Farm Commander you had to execute a remote task: shutdown –r. Many people complained about the lack of feedback during this process. This is why we created the Reboot manager. Selected servers will be rebooted/shutdown and Reboot manager keeps track of the outcome. If the servers are really shutdown/come back up.
As of March 2010 the price of the FASe suite is going to rice to 200,00 euro for a Farm License. Thats roughly 260,00 US dollar.

If you were planning to buy a license, we advise you to do so before March. Previously we offered the FASe administration suite below cost price to gain popularity. The discount model remains the same; if you buy 4 licenses you get the 5th for free.

After a beta period of more than a year, Farm Commander is no longer beta. Version 1.1 is out and contains many fixes and new eatures:
Farm Commander remains free for 2010, only registration is required.
People who previously have registered Farm Commander, need to register again.
It's best to register from within the program it self, but a internet connection is required. If you wish to manually register Farm Commander, follow this link:

Freebee time again!, Till the end of the year Gourami gives away Farm Monitor!, All you need to do is register.
Inspired by the wishes of actual Citrix consultants who work in the field!, Farm Monitor is designed to keep an eye on all vital Citrix components like:
-Data store
-Data Collector(s)
-License servers
-Every Citrix/XenApp server
-Running services, like the IMA services
Because Citrix relies on many Microsoft components like active directory and file shares, Farm Monitor also keeps an eye on:
-File shares, profiles/home folders
-Active directory
The dashboard overview allows you to see in an instance what’s wrong with your Citrix farm.
Be the first to know when one of your Citrix XenApp servers crashes, this enables system administrators to recognize trends and act swiftly. Prevent outage of your XenApp servers during business hours.
Minor update for Published Applications Utility,
It is now possible to edit 'Access Control' for many applications at once:
-Allow connections made through Access Gateway
-Any Connection
-Any connection that meets any of the following filters
-Allow all other connections
-Farm Name
-Filter
The new version of PAU is in the FASe1.2 package.

For those not familiar with FASe, a short introduction: FASe stands for Farm Administration Suite, and contains many tools which are a bless for Citrix XenApp/Presentation Server Administrators. These tools are included with FASe:
