Remove groups from selected applications

When connecting to the farm PAU keeps track of all the occurred users and groups with every application. They are presented to you in a dialogue when you select 'Remove groups from selected applications'. You can now select what groups/users should be removed. They are removed from the application witch are checked in the main dialogue of PAU.

If the 'remove users/groups dialogue appears you can right click on the application list to manipulate your selection. If for example you only wish to remove groups with the word 'domain' in it, you can right click on the application list. Choose 'Select' and then 'Search', type 'domain' in the search dialog and click 'OK' as show below.

If one of your applications contain 'domain local groups' PAU will fail. Citrix presentation server does not support 'domain local groups'. The only way to correct this problem is to remove the 'domain local groups' from your applications using the presentation server console.

Notice that PAU first checks to see if the groups to be removed occurs with the selected applications. Removing groups that don't occur in an application won't cancel the operation. Always refer to the log to see if your action was successful, you can always exit, or refresh to cancel your changes.

Add groups to selected applications

First make a selection of the applications you wish to manipulate in the PAU main screen. Choose 'add groups to selected applications'. You are presented with a dialog that looks a lot like the 'active directory users and computers' mmc snap-in. But there are some major differences. First only 'containers', 'organizational units' and 'domain global security groups' are listed. In the right list view plane you can select the groups and press the 'Add' button to add them to your list of groups. This list is shown under the 'Add' button. You can first browse, add groups to the list then do a search and extend your list with selected items from your search result. You cannot add a group two times to your selection.

If all the groups you selected appear in the box under the 'add' button you can choose 'OK' to add the groups to the selected applications. Clicking 'Clear' will remove the groups from your selection.

Adding users to applications is not supported in PAU, users should always made member of a group, and groups should be added. This to keep your farm clean and quick, access control lists kept small this way.

Notice that PAU first checks to see if the groups to be added occur with the selected applications. Adding groups that already occur in an application won't cancel the operation. Always refer to the log to see if your action was successful, you can always exit, or refresh to cancel your changes.
