Hi,
If you choose some applications, select "Misc" / "Appearance", Select "Change size and Colors" and then check the Colors listbox. Here you can choose between 16, 256, 64k and 16k colors.
If you select 64k colors it sets the application to use 16bit colors.
Why not use the same terms (16, 256, 16bit and 24bit) as in the management interface?

Problem solved!, It was the confusement '16k' colors/16bit.
is you select 16bit it puts in 24bit, and if you select 24bit it fills in 16bit.
Thanks for adressing this! (new version, eta april 2008, will have this fixed.)
