Ola, BJ,

Sounds like an idea!,

So on every workstation it runs on, it should also remove client folders. A few question rise:

-owership should be taken of the folders

-how do you determine where the client folders are for EVERY ica version

-it's not possible to determine the current user, because you are running UNICA with levitated rights

Care to think along?

c:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Applications Data\ICAClient folder is created when a user starts an ica session.  If multiple userids have started ica sessions from a workstation each user will have an ICAClient folder.  If the ICA client is uninstalled the ICAClient folder for each user should be deleted, it will be recreated when the user launched a new session with the new client and will contain the appropriate default ini files for the new client.  Currently I have a cmd file that runs the unica to remove the old client and install the new client, deletes the ICAClient folder for all local profiles and restarts the the workstation.

Could you post the relevant part of the CMD file here.

From what version does ICA uses the application data folder.

I think there actions should be taken:

1-determine profile folder the client

2-list users there

3-take owership of the ICACLIENT dir

4-delete it recursevely

Hi there,

I had this problem as well. It left an incorrect version of APPSRV.INI which resides in each users profile. We created a separate script to delete this, but if it could be incorporated into UNICA, that would rock.

for /D %i in (*) do del "c:\documents and settings\%i\application data\ICAClient\appsrv.ini"

Okey, the one line you posted seems simple enough. But would it not be nessesairy to take ownership of the file first. It's in your profile... The administrator account doesn't have permissions here..?

Hi yes sorry, we used SCCM 2007 for our deployment, so the SCCM package elevated the rights to delete files from all folders under Documents & Settings :) As a Local Admin, you should have rights to anyone's profile though?

Is there a way you can use xcacls.exe (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318754) to somehow modify the permissions or take ownership and then clean it up after?
